Odeskabel participated in the 56th General Meeting of the ELEKTROKABEL Association

From 28 February to 3 March, 2011, the 56th General Meeting of the Elektrokabel Association's members took place in Minsk gathering top-managers of 65 wire and cable manufacturers from the CIS.
The Elektrokabel Association incorporates the most dinamically developing and attractive for investors cable manufacturers.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
1. The situation and prospects of development of the Byelorussian industry (Minister of Industry of the Belarus Republic).
2. Balance of the work of cable plants of the Elektrokabel Association in 2010.
3. Russian cable industry forecast for 2011-2012.
4. Consumation dynamics of chemical materials for cable production in 2010.

Also, a research advisory (technical) seminar was conducted in the frames of the Meeting discussing the following topics:
1) Condition and perspectives of development of communication systems and their provision with cables in Belarus.
2) Development of communication systems and cable production in the Ukraine.
3) Existing structure and perspectives of development of communication systems in the Russian Federation.
4) Condition and structure of the world telecom cables production, its problems, challenges, etc.

Odeskabel was represented by General Manager - Mr Dmitriy Iorgachov, Deputy General Manager for Innovations and Development - Mr Vadim Iorgachov, and Marketing and Sales Director - Mr Roman Korshak.

Mr R. Korshak made a speech concerning the strategy and perspectives of development of telecommunication systems in the Ukraine, and their provision with cables and wires.

About the Elektrokabel Association

The Non-profit Partnership "Elektrokabel" Association unites 99 enterprises, companies, and firms from Russia and the CIS. It includes almost all cable plants of the former USSR, which manufacture about 90% of the total volume of cable products in the CIS. Its scientific and technical centre is the All-Russian Researh and Development, Engineering and Technological Institute of the Cable Industry (VNIIKP JSC, Moscow).

The Association's goals are:
- assistance in development and improvement of cable production at the enterprises - members of the Association;
- assistance in development of innovative and productive potential of the members of the Association, international co-operation of cablemakers, OEM and raw materials manufacturers;
- development of recommendations concerning the main cable industry and technology trends.
